Bronze Machined Parts
Bronze is an alloy similar to brass as they both contain copper, but bronze generally consists of copper mixed with tin. This makes the material harder than brass but still softer than steel. Bronze is also low-friction, and is even sometimes called a brass alloy when zinc is the main ingredient. This metal is particularly resistant to salt-water corrosion and is often used to make propellers for ships and other submerged materials. In Faith Manufacturing’s time as an operating machine shop, bronze grades such as NI-AL-BRZ ASTM B150, B150 C63000, and B271 UNS C863 have been used to make such parts as packing retainers, lower bushings and cap heads.
We would be happy to discuss your bronze and subsea needs.
